The Lender will check the information supplied from your application with the Credit Reference agencies or Other Agencies to satisfy themselves that all the details are true and that the application was originated by yourself or jointly with your partner or spouse. They may conduct more than one search when assessing your application and results may then be used towards a Credit Scoring System. The Credit Scoring System is based on points awarded for variables like age, occupation and for the information obtained from the Credit Reference agencies which highlight your ability to repay previous or existing credit. Lenders use different methods of Credit Scoring and this largely depends upon their interpretation of different factors and the level of risk they are willing to take.
